1. CADS LEVEL 2 – CERTIFIED INSTRUCTOR:
This person must have successfully completed the Level I course, successfully completed 18 hours of CSIA (Canadian Ski Instructors Alliance) or CASI (Canadian Association of Snowboard Instructors) teaching methodology, instructed people with disabilities or at least one (1) season, and be a current member of CADS

2. CADS LEVEL 2A – SIT-SKI INSTRUCTOR CERTIFICATION:
Able-bodied Instructor: Must be CADS Level II instructor, having taught sit-skiing for a minimum of one (1) season. The candidate must demonstrate and pass the sit-ski ski-off.
Person with a Disability: A person with a disability who normally skis in a sit-ski may have the opportunity to be tested in the Sit-ski phase, or all phases of testing for the CADS Certification.

World Snowboard Federation (WSF) 2010 Adaptive Snowboard World Cup

The Canadian Adaptive Snowboard Program will hit Mont Tremblant Quebec on April 2nd for the World Snowboard Federation (WSF) 2010 Adaptive Snowboard World Cup in conjunction with Canada~Snowboard’s National Championships. Adaptive Snowboarders from Canada and around the world with physical disabilities will have the opportunity to compete in a sling-shot snowboard cross event against other riders for top spot. This event is produced by Canada~Snowboard and the World Snowboard Federation (WSF).
The Canadian Adaptive Snowboard Program (CASP) will also host prior to the WSF 2010 Adaptive Snowboard World Cup on March 30-April 1st a Train to Train Athlete Development Camp for all athletes interested in training opportunities with the CASP National Team Coach
Classification will take place prior to the event on April 1. Athletes must be classified to participate in the Adaptive Snowboard World Cup. Location of Classification schedule to follow.

Riders must demonstrate a competent riding level of blue terrain is a minimum stand for the Train to Train Camp.

Entry Fee for the Train to Train Adaptive Athlete Developmental Camp is $50.00 CDN.
Entry Fee for the WSF 2010 Adaptive Snowboard World Cup Competition is $115.00 CDN.

CADS Ski Improvement & Race Development Festival

CADS SKI IMPROVEMENT & RACE DEVELOPMENT FESTIVAL
March 21 to 26, 2010 at Mt. Washington, BC
We are pleased to announce that the 2010 CADS Ski Improvement & Race Development Festival will be held this year,at Mt. Washington, on Vancouver Island. This year’s festival is hosted jointly by the Vancouver Island Society for Adaptive Snowsports and Mt. Washington Alpine Resort.
This year’s festival runs from Sunday, March 21st to Friday, 26th. During this same week, the Telus Para-alpine Championships will also be held on site.
There are numerous activities, both on-hill and off-hill, happening during the week. For festival participants interested in improving their skills, certification courses and training sessions will be offered. In addition, there will be the annual banquet.
